An Empowering Ideology For Safety Vs An Enabling One

While I criticize the left actively, my definition of safety isn't bound by the opposing ideology either. It does arrive at similar conclusions with conservatives on key tactical issues involving self-defense and greater penalties for career criminals.

Leftist safety, which isn't very safe at all lately, has veered from Cold War liberal critiques of Jim Crow police intimidation and 'Red Scare' communist witch-hunts to calling for de-escalation while favored felons escalate everywhere they go, defunding police and demanding prison abolition. These latest agenda items endanger the very prolitariat or working class they claim to champion. A point they intentionally ignore.

My advocacy began in a conservative town whose definition of safety made us safer from community criminals through aggressive policing and prosecution. What it didn't do was keep non criminals safe from insulting treatment and police brutality. The department premise was rank-and-file male members of my community were suspected criminals until proven otherwise. This ingrained implicit bias didn't change with integration of its ranks. I liken this dilemma in to that of the apartheid-era South African national police force. Its Black officers didn't alter racist operations one iota.

To me at least, it's abundantly clear that the leftist definition of safety is enabling the absolute worst members of my community. From young car-jackers to older murderers, the left has done its level best to keep them out of prison, no matter how many lives are harmed.

Or ended.

Leftists have also reliably lengthened lives of death row inmates through endless motions and publicity campaigns. This is done no matter how horrific the murders were which earned them capital punishment.

These observations don't make me 'anti Black' since my goal is justice for victims in my community. Progressive propaganda makes Black stakeholders for safety either invisible men and women or pariahs for opposing ongoing violence and theft enabled by that ideology. They've made themselves the greater threat to real safety than even excesses by distant conservatives.

Urban residents are better served promoting an empowering ideology for safety verses one offered by 'blue' or establishment Democrat mayors and police chiefs they supervise. Tragically, many 'Democrats with sense,' as I call their grassroots pro-safety constituency, agree with me on issues like publicizing violent juvenile assailants identities and records or constitutional carry of concealed firearms by law abiding citizens. Unfortunately, their fellow partisans on high bitterly oppose such measures and demonize or dismiss supporters.

This is the existential battle of which I have a ringside seat. I also have a corner stool for my part of this bout when the 'bell rings' (crime appears) in my personal and professional lives.

At issue is which side will win, either an empowering ideology for safety or an enabling one for lack of it.
