AND SO, THE PROTESTS GO ON

I predict these Democrat-led, resistance-type protests will go on and on, until today’s morally bankrupt Democrat Party finally disappears into the annals of history

In a previous commentary, I expressed concern that the May 9 protest at the ICE Delaney Hall detention center in Newark, New Jersey, would lead to further chaos and violence, and it has. Fifty members of the clergy, who FOX News described as “agitators,” gathered at the gates of the same ICE detention center on May 12 to continue the bad behavior of the first group with a stated goal of wanting to be arrested.

It was both shocking and disappointing to see the very aggressive behavior and verbal assaults by the three members of Congress on May 9, and it is now shocking and disappointing to see members of the clergy continuing that same behavior. The clergy vowed they would continue to block the gates to the detention center until they were arrested. It’s one thing to express compassion for the illegal migrants being held in the Delaney Hall detention center, but when the protesters are actively preventing ICE from moving inmates in and out or otherwise performing their job duties, the protesters’ actions constitute obstruction of justice.

I still find it baffling that these protestors – most likely all Left-leaning Democrats – would chose to defend and support migrants who have been detained specifically because of criminal activities. We certainly have not seen this level of sympathy and support for the many families in the United States who have had loved ones tortured, raped, or murdered by illegals literally “invited” into our country and then allowed to roam freely during the Biden/Harris Administration.

Again, I wonder what the Democrat Party’s real agenda is. Are these protests at the Newark ICE detention facility some kind of campaign stunt to get Mayor Ras Baraka elected Governor of New Jersey or is this simply a convenient protest opportunity to draw the public’s attention away from some other issue or situation? As I’m writing this, I can’t help but remember the Winston Churchill quip made famous again in 2008 by Rahm Emmanuel, Obama’s Chief of Staff: “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”

It could also be that the main purpose of the Delaney Hall protest is more about creating chaos and trouble for law enforcement and the Trump Administration. As I see it, these particular protestors really have nothing else to gain from this situation because the Trump DOJ and ICE’s Tom Holman are not going to release the detainees scheduled for deportation.

As many news commentators and political strategists have already observed, the Democrat Party of today is in total disarray because they have no credible or charismatic leaders, no clear platform (i.e., talking points), no new or exciting ideas, and no effective campaign strategy. Now that President Trump and the MAGA Republicans have adopted “Common Sense” as the Trump Administration’s guiding principle, it will be very difficult for the Democrat Party to try to put good old-fashioned American values and “common sense” back into their own political platform. And for that very reason, I predict these Democrat-led, resistance-type protests will go on and on, until today’s morally bankrupt Democrat Party finally disappears into the annals of history.
