Here we go again with 12 dimwitted Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives attempting to use the impeachment process against Secretary of War Pete Hegseth simply because they can’t stand the fact that Operation Epic Fury has been a historic military success that will be talked about by students of military strategy for a long, long time.
Of course, these same 12 Democrats hate our current Commander-in-Chief, President Donald J. Trump, even more than they hate Pete Hegseth. The Democrats are already openly talking about their plans to impeach President Trump a third time, if they can get a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives during the 2026 midterm election.
According to the USA.gov website, “impeachment is the process of bringing charges against a government official for wrongdoing. A trial may be held, and the official may be removed from office.” The process described sounds simple, but it is not simple for several reasons. The first reason is that the charges brought need to have some basis in fact and not be based on someone’s opinion or someone simply not liking or agreeing with the actions taken by the person being impeached.
The U.S. House of Representatives has initiated impeachment proceedings more than 60 times, but there have only been 21 successful votes for impeachment. These impeachments include three presidents: Andrew Johnson in 1868; William Jefferson (Bill) Clinton in 1998; Donald J. Trump in 2019 and 2021. However, Presidents Johnson, Clinton, and Trump all remained in office following acquittals by the U.S. Senate on all charges.
The U.S. constitutional standard for impeachment is “high crimes and misdemeanors.” However, this phraseology is not a precise legal definition, but only a broad, historically driven concept rather than a narrowly defined crime. In practice, this standard encompasses serious abuse of public trust, abuse of power, and/or conduct that undermines the integrity of the office or the government’s functioning.
It became clear several weeks ago that the Democrats were working up to a new impeachment effort when they started talking about President Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth having “committed war crimes.” It’s easy to throw around such words, but there is a much higher standard that must be met to convict someone of “war crimes” during a legitimate military operation.
Despite the Democrats, and even some Republicans continuing to say that President Trump did not have the authority to take military action in Iran through Operation Epic Fury, the current law is clear that he did have the authority to take the actions he took to contain the threat posed by Iran, if it were to have a nuclear weapon.
Of course, these same 12 Democrats hate our current Commander-in-Chief, President Donald J. Trump, even more than they hate Pete Hegseth. The Democrats are already openly talking about their plans to impeach President Trump a third time, if they can get a majority in the U.S. House of Representatives during the 2026
For those who may be interested, a detailed description of “war crimes” can be found in 18 U.S. Code 2441 as well as in the August 12, 1949, Geneva Convention documents. These documents cover prohibited conduct in at least nine broad categories including torture, cruel and inhumane treatment, performance of biological experiments, murder, mutilation or maiming, intentionally causing serious bodily injury, rape, sexual assault or abuse, and taking of hostages. The Geneva Convention specifically pertains to the treatment of prisoners of war while 18 U.S. Code 2441 pertains to specifically defined war crimes committed by members of the U.S. Armed Forces.
Earlier this week, the U.S. Department of Justice released about 900 pages of documents related the Democrat’s impeachment attempt of President Trump in his first term over a phone call he had with the Ukrainian President Zelensky on July 25, 2019. Those documents confirm there was no abuse of power or obstruction of justice on President Trump’s part. Again, it is easy to claim all sorts of abuses, but those claims must be substantiated for a conviction of a crime or for an impeachment process to be successful.
So far, the Democrat Party has no new talking points and certainly not any type of compelling platform from which to campaign prior to the 2026 midterm elections. With no new arrows in their quiver, the Dems continue to beat the same drum using the same old talking points, which primarily consist of accusations, innuendoes, lies, and more lies.
The only thing that’s changed is that the accusations and lies seem to grow bigger and bolder with each new election cycle. For these reasons, it’s very difficult for an intelligent person to take the Democrat Party seriously.
I believe it is difficult for most patriotic Americans to take anything the Democrats say these days with any degree of seriousness because they have shown that the only thing they are good at is constantly complaining, naysaying, and Monday morning quarterbacking, even then without looking at the true facts of a situation. In my opinion, if the Democrat Party really cared about all human beings, they would not have a double standard for law enforcement--ICE and Border Patrol bad; illegal aliens, even if they have a criminal record good.
The bottom line is that the current Democrat Party has no strategy for winning seats in the 2026 midterm election except by continuing to lie, harass, and malign anyone they don’t agree with, and they will always choose to protect illegal migrants before protecting American citizens. The Democrat Party has become so obsessed with hating Donald J. Trump and anyone who supports him that they have lost their grip on reality and completely lost sight of the wants and needs of the American voters. However, I hope--and I literally pray--that more and more American citizens are starting to take notice and have been motivated by the many courageous actions taken by President Trump and his Cabinet members to do what is necessary to return America to our Judeo-Christian values and to continue to restore patriotism and pride in the United States of America in this special year of celebration commemorating our country’s founding 250 years ago.
