The 'werewolf' of sudden violence, a licensed social worker in more temperate moments, tried to take a baby out of a stroller.
Incredibly, implausibly, this happened on an otherwise normal day, like so many other crimes.
Man fights off woman trying to kidnap great-grand daughter from stroller (ABC 7, April 9th, 2026).
Kudos to great-granddad for not only fighting off this kidnapper but detaining her for police. While motive hasn't been released, what's clear is no outside activity, no matter how innocent, is exempt from intrusion or assault.
Have a safety plan in mind, especially when you're out with a child. Warding off unwelcome or unsafe advances aren't out of the realm of possibility. Consider the horrible turn a recent viral visit to a 'big box' retailer took:
Police kill woman who slashed 3-year old boy during kidnapping attempt outside Omaha Walmart (KETV, April 14th, 2026).
You never know when the 'werewolf' of sudden violence may make an uninvited appearance.
Have a safety plan in mind.
