Intellectual Laziness has Consequences

As we watch the Democrats in Congress make one outrageous statement after another and continue to stall and delay any serious discussions to resolve the issues surrounding the latest federal government shutdown, the only reasonable conclusion a clear-thinking American can come to is the one that Victor Davis Hanson shared in a recent video.

That conclusion is simply that the Dems want to inflict as much daily pain, misery, inconvenience, and economic damage on their fellow Americans as possible hoping that they will then turn their disgruntlement and dissatisfaction with the Trump Administration into either not voting at all in the 2026 midterm election or voting for a Democrat. In the minds of the Democrats in Congress, they believe the more dissention and chaos they can create, the better chance they have of retaining or gaining Congressional seats in the November midterm election.

It’s hard to understand exactly how such a strategy will get them what they want, but because many current Dems in Congress, even those involved in Party leadership, have convinced themselves that their strategy of “resistance” to anything Trump, the GOP, or patriotic Americans stand for is somehow brilliant when, in fact, it merely demonstrates how intellectually lazy they are.

Being intellectually lazy means refusing to engage with or critically evaluate one’s own or another’s ideas, beliefs, or political views. Being intellectually lazy involves dismissing or ignoring evidence without proper consideration. It also means being willing to outright lie, distort facts, or perpetuate misconceptions and/or false narratives like the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax, which has now been investigated and debunked.

Also, have you noticed that the Leftist Democrats never tell you what they stand for or support morally and politically? Instead, the Democrats only tell you what they stand against, and the list is very long. In fact, the list of what they are against grows longer with each passing day because they apparently think this tactic is a winning strategy.

Does Senator Chuck Schumer or House Minority Leader Joaquim Jefferies have any idea how stupid they look when they are reading prepared statements to an empty Congress or providing a rehearsed statement to a member of the press? Because neither of these men has any real sense of shame, they are willing to repeat the same words and lies ad nauseum. Rarely does either one of these men have anything of substance to say, and certainly nothing profound, but they act like what they have to say represents some noble cause de jour.

It was predictable that the Democrats would think President Trump’s plan to use ICE agents to help TSA agents during the government shutdown was going to be a colossal failure. In reality, Trump’s plan to do this was actually very smart because the American public (either close up and personal or watching on television) has now seen ICE agents without their masks helping their fellow Americans at a difficult time. One ICE agent, due to his emergency medical training, was even able to save a child in distress who wasn’t breathing as his father waited in the TSA line. By observing ICE agents helping out with security screenings at major U.S. airports, Americans are able to see and hear with their own eyes and ears that ICE agents are not the monsters or untrained and undisciplined law enforcement officers the Democrats and the Leftist mainstream media would have you believe they are.

Speaker of the House Mike Johnson was correct in calling the bill the Democrats offered in the U.S. Senate on March 27 “a joke.” In fact, the bill was so outrageous that it should never have been brought to the floor for a vote because it did absolutely nothing to advance the negotiation or resolve the current stalemate that keeps the federal government shut down, now running into the religious holidays of Passover and Easter.

Until the Democrats can articulate in plain and simple language, a reasonable statement of what they stand for, they have no chance of siphoning off MAGA voters in the 2026 midterm election. Even holding another nationwide No Kings rally on March 28 is not going to help them win over new voters. Holding such rallies is simply grandstanding, and American voters are starting to see the rallies for what they are – paid demonstrations designed mostly to annoy and disrupt American life at a local level on a Saturday morning.

As more American voters start paying attention to their current quality of life, I believe the Dems approval rating will continue to move even lower. It is already at a historical low. In my opinion, intellectual laziness has never been a winning strategy, but maybe we American patriots should keep that insight to ourselves as we watch the Democrat Party continue to spiral deeper and deeper into the abyss of irrelevancy.
