Polls Refute Climate Alarmism

Over just the last 100 years, human deaths attributed to weather related disaster around the world have declined by over 99 percent

Most Americans are not very worried about climate change, even amidst the push from climate alarmists to attribute the deadly Texas floods to climate change.

A recent Gallup poll found that the percentage of Americans ‘greatly worried’ about climate change has declined by six percentage points since 2020, down to just 40 percent. (1)

Real-world data shows extreme weather across the board is not increasing in frequency or intensity. However, due to the massive coverage of almost every severe weather event by mass media and instant video by citizens and storm chasers alike, there’s a false perception that severe weather has increased.

Further, improvements in Doppler radar technology and communication systems (cell phones, for example) have made it easier to detect and report severe weather events compared to just 30 years ago. The enhanced forecasting and coverage capability leads to a higher frequency of warnings and reports, creating the impression of increased activity. (1)

Results showing lack of concern are not surprising. There were earlier signs that public concern was dropping. In 2024, a Monmouth University poll asked Americans if they saw climate change as a very serious issue, and those numbers also indicated that fewer people were concerned compared to levels of concern in 2020.

In that study, there existed a very sharp decline among people in the 18-34 year od range, people who grew up with some of the most intense public propaganda in school and media. Their level of concern dropped by 17 points between 2021 and 2024. (2)

More than half of the US sees the media, not just as self-serving, biased hacks, but as the enemy itself. According to a survey by Rasmussen Reports, 60% agree with President Trump’s assessment that the media are ‘the enemy of the people.’ (3)

Also, more than half of registered voters rate making America energy independence higher than climate change. The poll also found that 59 percent of voter say reducing the cost of electricity and improving grid reliability and natural gas supply should take precedence over climate change. (4)

Fear List

The Chapman University Fear Study is released every year. This study tracks what Americans fear most. The survey asked what are you ‘afraid of, or very afraid of.’ (5)

Global warming and climate change was number 21 on the list. The last year global warming and climate change made the top 10 list of fears was 2018 and 2019 where they were 9th on the list. The number 1 fear on the 2024 top ten fears list is corrupt government officials which has led the list since 2016. (6)

Scientists on Carbon Dioxide

For decades we have been told by the United Nations that carbon dioxide emissions from human activity are causing disastrous climate change. In 2018, a UN IPCC report even warmed that we have 12 years to save the earth, thus sending millions of people worldwide into a frenzy. Other have even predicted shorter times for a major disaster.

Very few people actually dig into the data, they simply accept the IPCC reports. Yet many highly respectable and distinguished scientist have done exactly that and found that the UN-promoted man-made climate change theory is false. Almost 2,000 of the world’s leading climate scientist and professionals in over 30 countries have signed a declaration that there is no climate emergency and have refuted the United Nations claims in relation to man-made climate change. (7)

Nuclear Survey

In the US, a 2023 survey showed 57 percent want more nuclear plants, up from 43 percent in 2020. During the same period, support for nuclear in the Netherlands grew by half, with twice as many proponents now as opponents. In Poland, support grew even faster: from 39 to 75 percent in only one and a half years, largely due to the desire to gain energy independence from nearby Russia. In Belgium, 85 percent want to keep nuclear in the energy mix. In Sweden, 84 percent want to continue to use nuclear power or build more reactors. Only one in ten respondents want to shut down nuclear plants. (8)

Summary

There is no climate emergency. Therefore, there is no cause for panic and alarm.

Natural as well as anthropogenic factors cause warming: The geological archive reveals that earth’s climate has varied as long as the planet has existed, with natural cold and warm phases. The Little Ice Age ended as recently as 1850. Therefore, it is no surprise that we are now experiencing a period of warming. (7)

-Warming is far slower than predicted: The world has warmed significantly less than predicted by the IPCC on the basis of modeled anthropogenic forcing. The gap between the real world and the modeled world tells us that we are far from understanding climate change.

  • Climate policy relied on inadequate models: Climate models have many shortcomings and are not remotely plausible as global policy tools. They blow up the effect of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide. In addition, they ignore the fact that enhancing the atmosphere with carbon dioxide is beneficial.
  • Carbon dioxide is plant food, the basis of all life on earth: Carbon dioxide is not a pollutant. It is essential to all life on earth. Photosynthesis is a blessing. More carbon dioxide is beneficial for nature, greening the earth: additional carbon dioxide in the air has promoted growth in global plant biomass. It is also good for agriculture, increasing the yields of crops worldwide
  • Global warming has not increased natural disasters: There is no statistical evidence that global warming is intensifying hurricanes, floods, droughts, and suchlike disasters, or making them more frequent. (7)

The 21st century is by far the best time to be alive in terms of survivability from natural disasters. Over just the last 100 years, human deaths attributed to weather related disaster around the world have declined by over 99 percent. (9)
