SNAP For Millionaires, It’s A Thing

Personally, I hope his denials and inaction result in prosecution and incarceration, with Keith Ellison as his cellmate;

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps individuals and families with low incomes purchase nutritious food. While it is a federal program, it is managed by state agencies through local offices. You may qualify for SNAP benefits if you meet specific income and resource requirements.

A new method of scamming the government has been exposed, and it seems to have been going on for quite some time

Over the past year, Minnesota has been singled out for massive SNAP fraud. Recent investigations in 2026 highlighted millions of dollars in suspected trafficking by retailers and cases of individual misuse.

In April 2026, federal agents raided multiple retail locations in the Twin Cities suspected of trafficking SNAP benefits for cash, firearms, or drugs.

The investigation into suspected fraud involves $2.1 million across 22 retailers. Two stores were subjected to direct search warrants, while others received administrative charging letters.

Apparently, a new method of scamming the government has been exposed, and it seems to have been going on for quite some time. The difference is that this program, known as BBCE, can even allow millionaires to get involved.

Yes, we could be paying for well-off people, including some millionaires, to enjoy steak-and-lobster dinners on the taxpayers' dime. A retired engineer learned about the scam, figured it out, and went one step further. He exploited it in order to prove it

The BBCE loophole bypasses federal eligibility limits for income and assets. If you have too much money to qualify for SNAP benefits under typical guidelines, states still provide alternative options.

HUH?

It gets worse. There are currently 44 states participating in this loophole.

The Foundation for Government Accountability refers to it as "fraud by design," and the statistics support this claim.

Currently, approximately one in five SNAP recipients holds assets of $100,000 or more.

The FGA estimates that over five million people enrolled in SNAP through BBCE do not meet traditional income or asset requirements. Every month, your tax dollars contribute to their grocery expenses.

Food stamp enrollment rose sharply from 17.1 million recipients in 2000 to 41.1 million in 2022, while the annual cost increased from $17 billion to $119 billion.

Is anyone surprised that it was Barack Obama who enhanced the BBCE loophole, and that Democrats in states like Tim Walz’s Minnesota planned to maintain it indefinitely?

Rob Undersander suspected an issue with the food stamp system, so in 2016, he decided to conduct the experiment himself

Rob Undersander is a retired engineer from Minnesota who became a millionaire. He suspected an issue with the food stamp system, so in 2016, he decided to conduct the experiment himself.

He filled out the same SNAP applications he'd been helping seniors complete while volunteering at the Central Minnesota Council on Aging.

A few weeks later, the government deposited $278 in food stamp benefits into his account. There was no income verification, and no asset check.

After a year of collecting the $278 every month, his monthly benefits climbed to $341.

Overall, he received benefits for 19 months. During that time, he charged lobster and filet mignon on his EBT card until his pension income nudged him out of eligibility.

While he was receiving benefits, he and his wife donated an equivalent dollar amount to their church's food pantry.

With this information in hand, Undersander testified before the Minnesota legislature regarding his findings.

However, Democrat Rep. John Considine of Mankato couldn’t grasp what Undersander was telling him. He reacted like a kid who had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Instead of thanking him for exposing the fraud, he chastised Undersander, saying:

"You knew this was wrong, and you did it anyway. I find it pretty despicable. I am just sorry there is no way we can prosecute you."

Considine’s reaction speaks volumes. First, there was no other way to prove the deception without going through the process himself to show that it could be done. Next, Considine completely ignored the fact that the couple donated the same amount they had received to their church’s food pantry.

It’s more than a little suspicious that Considine would react in that manner. He was more agitated by Undersander's exposure of the deception than by the billions of dollars being fraudulently spent at taxpayers' expense.

What is the payoff for Democrats to turn their backs and close their eyes to this massive illegal activity?

The fact that Illegal activity is condoned on every level by Democrats is telling. Let millions into the country illegally, no problem. Allow millions/billions of dollars to be siphoned off illegally, no problem.

The question Americans need to ask themselves is, what is the payoff for Democrats to turn their backs and close their eyes to this massive illegal activity?

Tim Walz is the Minnesota governor who appeared before the House Oversight Committee and oversaw a welfare system in which federal prosecutors estimate $9 billion in taxpayer money was stolen across various social service programs.

In March 2026, James Comer’s committee disclosed testimony indicating that both Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison were aware of credible fraud concerns years earlier but failed to take action. Additionally, they retaliated against the whistleblowers who attempted to raise the alarm.

Not surprisingly, Walz called the $9 billion figure "sensationalized." FBI Director Kash Patel disagreed, calling it "just the tip of a very large iceberg."

What this proves is that Minnesota is a state that hands out welfare benefits with no accountability and ignores the truth when confronted with it.

Undersander began his quest in 2016, so Democrats have been aware of the fraud for at least a decade, and did nothing to stop it.

Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill has changed the equation: states that are unable to reduce their payment error rates will have to cover those costs themselves starting in 2028.

There are 44 states that are participating in BBCE, so Minnesota isn’t the only one. Still, Democrats in that state repeatedly ignored the situation and, to this day, are allowing it to continue. Instead of doing everything he can to stop the bleeding, Tim Walz remains defensive, denying what is taking place.

Personally, I hope his denials and inaction result in prosecution and incarceration, with Keith Ellison as his cellmate.
