Some Things Can’t Be Changed

There is a reality that I find upsetting. Some things just can’t be changed. In America today we are fighting two wars with enemies that simply can’t be vanquished. These enemies can be temporarily squelched, but they can’t be destroyed. These enemies have no physical form because they live in the minds of man. The name of the enemy is ideology.

The ideologies of Islam and Marxism

The ideology that is getting the most attention in April 2026 is the 1,300-year-old death cult masquerading as a religion called Islam. As America and Israel deal with the most radical elements of Shia Islam in the nation of Iran, we must acknowledge that we can destroy Iran’s ability to make war, make nuclear material, and to spread death and destruction elsewhere. However, we can never destroy their ideology. The civilized world has been dealing with this 1,300-year-old barbaric ideology since its inception and have put it down several times in the past. No matter what happens in Iran, radical Islamists will rise again and the civilized world had better be watching for it.

The other ideology that continues to be problematic and is an existential threat to the free nations of the world, is Marxism (aka collectivism, socialism, and communism). Although this ideology is only 175- years-old, it is a mythological theory that humans can exist in a communal environment where everyone works hard and all share equally in the benefits of the collective product. Everywhere Marxism has been tried in free societies it has failed because lazy people try for a free ride on the backs of productive people. The only places collectivism has persisted is under tyrannical totalitarian governments that keep people as virtual slaves. The elites live very well, and the general population lives in collective poverty.

Both America and Canada have a Marxism problem, and it is graphically demonstrated everywhere liberals (Marxists) control major cities and states or provinces. The Marxist politicians promise free stuff, thus buying the votes to get elected. It keeps working, even when political promises are never fulfilled.

Like Islam, Marxism will not be destroyed because each new generation thinks they are the smartest generation ever, so smart in fact, that they can make the unworkable work. Ideologies can be suppressed for a time, but they can’t be destroyed. The job we have during our time on earth is to keep these destructive ideologies as suppressed as much as possible.
