If we needed any more proof that the Leftist Democrats want to destroy America and our constitutional republic, we certainly had plenty of examples in Los Angeles the last ten days. Antifa and other persons of sketchy character— many of them paid stooges—participated in anti-ICE and/or anti-Trump demonstrations on June 14 in the cities of Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, and Philadelphia, all traditionally Democrat strongholds.
Thankfully, the “No Kings” rally scheduled for Minneapolis on June 14 was canceled at the last minute by Leftist (and truly looney) Governor Tim Walz due to the tragic targeted killing of two Minnesota state legislators in the early hours of the morning. Had that protest rally not been canceled, there may have been a repeat of the 2020 burning and looting of downtown Minneapolis.
When I went to bed last Friday night, I was fearful of what the next day’s news would bring considering the 1,500 “No Kings” protests scheduled throughout the United States last Saturday. I truly feared there would be far more violence, destruction, and chaos nationwide than there apparently was. However, the monetary value of the damage done in the four major cities mentioned above has not yet been tallied up, and I think the actual amount will be considerable.
Personally, I credit the actual outcome—less violence than anticipated—to the fervent prayers of America’s Christian patriots and supporters, who understand the grave danger in allowing our county’s cherished symbols of individual liberty and freedom to be set on fire, trampled, or otherwise damaged or destroyed during these supposedly “peaceful protests.” The televised images of the “mostly peaceful protests” of 2020 in Minneapolis and Seattle are still vivid in my memory, and I have no desire to see further violence by mostly hired thugs pretending to be “righteously protesting” some allegedly unconstitutional policy by using Marxist tactics, which almost always includes name-calling, chanting, and multiple forms of violence and destruction.
As much as Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom claim the Los Angeles protests were not violent, it seemed clear to me in watching video clips on television and the Internet that those in attendance were quite willing to engage in violent acts against law enforcement. The average American citizen with even an iota of good sense understands you should never attack law enforcement personnel by throwing rocks, sticks, firecrackers, or any object. That is a basic rule of civil society, so why were those protestors willing to behave so reprehensibly? I believe it was (a) they didn’t believe they would be arrested, or if arrested, not charged, and (b) they were being paid well to create as much chaos and destruction as possible.
Last week an LA protestor, who was arrested, admitted he was being paid $200 per day allegedly by a Soros-funded organization. He told law enforcement that he was hired to “show up” on a particular street at a particular time and to wreck as much havoc and destruction as possible. When a person (or persons) is actually paid and then instructed to harass law enforcement personnel and destroy property in any way he or she can, their actions are no longer simply “a lawful protest.” Their behavior is now criminal because property is being damaged or destroyed, street use and traffic movement is being impeded, the potential for human injury is very high, and our real constitutional guarantee of freedom of speech and association has been seriously misappropriated and subverted.
While I’m feeling somewhat buoyed by the fact that the nationwide “No Kings” rallies planned for June 14 ended up being less well-attended than the organizers hoped for, this type of nationally organized protesting is still concerning because it seems to go beyond what most of us would consider “grassroots” protests.
When the funders of these nationwide “rallies” are people who do not have anything personally or materially to lose, it is appropriate to question their motives and intentions. Christy Walton, an heir of the Walmart fortune, lives in Mexico, and George Soros supposedly maintains a primary residence in New York state. However, they both have enough money to live wherever they want to live in this world, which also means that if they don’t like what is happening in American politics, they don’t have to live here, or they can spend a lot of money trying to change America into a country more to their liking. That is worrisome to me because I love America, and I do not want the United States to become a socialist or communist country. If you do not live in America and if you do not love America, you will not have the desire to put America’s interest first.
For this reason, every American needs to stay informed about what is going on in the U.S. Congress, in our Supreme Court, and within the current Trump Administration. If we don’t like what we are seeing and hearing, we--each one of us--need to speak up and make our voices heard through our elected officials and other appropriate routes of communication.
