Would You Volunteer While TSA Agents Aren't Getting Paid?

So, would you volunteer while TSA agents aren't getting paid? They could use the help;

Here's a question for security professionals, veterans and other concerned citizens: would you volunteer while TSA agents aren't getting paid due to congressional chicanery?

Transportation security agents have gone more than a month without an income. Several hundred have quit as a result.

This volunteer idea occurred while reading about President Trump proposing he'll re-deploy ICE agents to do airport security screening. Their agency is fully funded, so they wouldn't be working for free.

I wouldn't want deportation operations to be hampered during wartime where the threat of foreign terror cells looms. Perhaps a call for qualified volunteers would do the job?

Trump Threatens To Deploy ICE Agents To Airports Amid DHS Funding Stand Off (NewsNation, March 21st, 2026):

Standing up a 'Transportation Security Auxiliary', along historic lines of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, could supply motivated staffers to process growing airport wait lines and give struggling TSA agents much-needed backup.

I'm a security professional. My experience includes threat assessment at events and searches of persons and property seeking entry into bars and onto municipal river ferries. The chance to be a 'Transportation Security Auxiliary' member is something I'd seriously consider. Tens of thousands of other citizens would, too

Politics and protection are a bad mix. Just ask TSA agents trying to maintain themselves on insulting paychecks with zero dollars printed on them.

So, would you volunteer while TSA agents aren't getting paid? They could use the help.
