Most people do not know that the American Revolution was not supported by a majority of the people living in America at the time. If I recall correctly, about 40% of Americans supported the idea of breaking away from England. About 30% of the people supported remaining a part of the British Empire, and about 30% didn’t know about the effort or didn’t care. Actually, less than 20% of Americans fought or actively supported the Revolutionary War effort. And most people don’t know that without the help of France, America would have lost the war.
