I've been doing a weekend 'wetblanket' night watch-meaning looking for 'non-fun' news-as we enter Easter weekend and Passover, 2026. It's a little after 2 a.m. Central my time and thus far I'm not aware of any homefront terrorism.
On a separate note, we are seeing routine 'recreational rioting' (so-called 'teen takeovers') in DC that locals refuse to stop outright. Imagine police resources tied up with boisterous brats when a terror attack happens? This rioting needs to nipped in the bud for that reason and general public safety alone.
Another troubling factor is the recent rescue of a downed US weapons systems officer in Iran. This triumph is sure to spur opposition forces into action against civilian targets. Where and when are salient questions on security watchers' minds.
Let's see what will or hopefully, won't happen, once this Easter weekend is over.
