VANCOUVER—The combined size of the federal, provincial, and municipal governments across Canada was equal to 43.6 per cent of the Canadian economy in 2024, and it increased in all ten provinces (relative to the sizes of their economies) from 2019 to 2024, finds a new study released today by the Fraser Institute, an independent, non-partisan Canadian public policy think-tank.
