America’s Shocking Marriage and Childbirth Collapse Won’t Recover Without One Change

When Romance Disappears From Human Existence, Is Life Worth Living?

In perhaps the most tragic development of America’s last century, marriage is largely abandoned, while childbirth rates crater, and countless youth reject a Christian theory of life. The most trenchant change over the last century is the disappearance of the notion humans are made in God’s image and that our purpose on earth is to Be Fruitful and Multiply. Further, that humans cannot follow God’s mission to create and replicate. Therefore, humans dropping out of the divine mission are inevitably lost and depressed. Currently, more Americans are single than married! See USA FACTS.

God blessed them and said to them,
“Be fruitful and increase in number;
fill the earth and subdue it.”
Genesis 1:28

Side effects of abandoning marriage include the catastrophic single-mother poverty rates, as disrespect blindly drenches bachelors. For, incipient feminism results in a mindless unigender struggle for power as traditional families perish in an icy sea of societal contempt. This caustic brew has effectively deracinated traditional feminine theories of life. Yet, more than anything, human loneliness is the effect.

See, Research shows marriage crucial to societal thriving: “Deaths of despair” have been on the rise in recent years, along with drug and alcohol abuse. A growing share of the population believes the American Dream is out of reach. And the share of Americans who say they are happy with their lives has been on the decline for several decades. Those trends are often blamed on factors such as economic inequality, failing schools, or racial issues. But Brad Wilcox, a professor of sociology at the University of Virginia, said those factors are not the true cause. “The biggest issue here driving a lot of our biggest problems in the country is America’s retreat from marriage,” Wilcox said. Meanwhile, consider--as Christianity originally birthed a biblical theory of life in ancient Rome, and then early Americans revered marriage and rejected divorce. so Believers thrived. This resulted in faith-based loyalty, reaping great rewards. This definition of marital love caused great gain in economic, emotional and patristic ends.

Top benefits of marriage include: “Marriage provides emotional support and companionship, creating a secure environment for couples to thrive. Legal benefits of marriage include rights to inheritance, medical decision-making, and financial protections which enhance stability. Marriage promotes financial advantages like tax breaks, improved mortgage options, and health insurance coverage, contributing to overall financial security.” See more--What are the Benefits of Marriage?

Where the Christian lifelong love theory is rejected, countless families lay decimated in ruin. The prospects of these kids for prospering face grim statistics, as they suffer higher failure rates and themselves birth ruined romantic unions, and overall attempts to build a better generation than their own. Currently, between the years of 1970-2025 the American female “refined marriage rate” dropped from 76.5% to 31.5%.

The Economics of Falling Birth Rate Birthrate Decline and the Economy A double whammy for future generations:

Absent a significant change in immigration patterns, slower birth rates will lead to slower population growth, and eventually a decline in the working-age population. This shift brings important fiscal implications, particularly for funding entitlement programs including Social Security and Medicare. Because such programs are funded through payroll taxes on current workers, a shrinking ratio of workers per retiree will exacerbate strains on entitlement funding. This ratio has already fallen from 4.0 workers per beneficiary in 1964 to 2.7 today. If fertility rates remain near current levels, funding gaps will grow wider, and workers could see tax increases of 20% to maintain the program’s solvency.Oxford University claims that courtly romantic love may be 9 centuries old, but early Christianity revolutionized marriage:

Biblical History of Modern Marriage

For history of marriage, consider John Andrews, How Early Christianity Redefined Marriage in a World of Patriarchy: Describing how Christian ideals in ancient Rome influenced marriage of 2 millennia ago, transforming it from a patriarchal, legalistic contract into a covenant based on mutual love, equality, and fidelity. By focusing on spiritual union, prohibiting divorce, and demanding equal commitment from husbands and wives, the early church countered Roman norms, elevating the status of women and emphasizing sacrificial love. These elements became established: From Hierarchy to Mutual Submission; Moral and Personal Equality; Consent and Choice; Lifelong Commitment; The "One Flesh" Covenant:

Slaying the Dragon: Rejecting Hostile Feminism, Sex-Saturated Dating Apps, While Re-asserting Christian Identity

So there is a massive storm of depression hanging across America one Dark Cloud after another for the collapse of marriage and Families. Why? Because the theme of America itself has fallen and we cannot return to our formerly joyful existence until we fix one main issue--our identity as either soulless humanists, or a new Christian generation. And obviously, since humanism has already failed, we can only fix our identities by accepting Christ’s ideas of revival.

Consider the current role of perverse and insulting dating Apps!

In recent years, we have seen increasing ambiguity about romantic relationship formation, along with a decrease in clear signals to clarify intentions of commitment. Unfortunately, current ambiguity in emerging romantic relationship transitions may make it difficult for partners to agree on when the relationship actually began due to multiple types of soft beginnings during which commitment is not clarified. Consequently, the pathways to sexual and romantic partnership have diversified, giving rise to several types of causal sexual relationships and experiences, such as hooking up and friends with benefits, and, as previously discussed on this blog, situationships. What seems to be facilitating the development of current romantic relationships, however, is a pre-dating stage known as “just talking.”

Now, finally--the notion that America’s default Feminism has anything but lies and mindless, dyspeptic anti-male bromides to poison the entire Human Race. Now consider that upcoming generations reject Feminism:

The rising rejection of feminism among young men is almost certainly linked to growing feelings that American society has become more hostile to men. In 2019, less than one-third of young men reported that men experienced some or a lot of discrimination in American society. Only four years later, close to half (45 percent) of young men now believe men are facing gender-based discrimination. For some young men, feminism has morphed from a commitment to gender equality to an ideology aimed at punishing men. That leads to predictable results, like half of men agreeing with the statement, “These days society seems to punish men just for acting like men.”

CONCLUSION: Our rejection of America’s tradition of Christianity and embrace of the Sex Revolution married to Feminism is the obvious reason we struggle with even basic dating.(See Opinion: The dating recession — how bad is it and what can we do?) We must swiftly kill mindless Feminism and have a revival--already happening--to save our beleaguered land. (See Surprising Revival: Gen Z Men and Highly Educated Lead Return to Religion.) After all, there is no law against moving to save yourself!
